Loek van den Berg (1996) is a Dutch saxophonist, based in Rotterdam. Through his accesible and recognizable playing style, which consists out of a lot of lyricism, interaction and swing, he is able to reach his audience every time. Loek’s playing style is influenced by different saxophonists as Cannonball Adderley, Sonny stitt and Paul Desmond.
At an age of 18 years old Loek started to study at the conservatory of Arnhem. Currently he is doing his bachelor of music at the conservatory of Rotterdam (Codarts), where he got lessons from Benjamin Herman, Simon Rigter, Ben van den Dungen and Tineke Postma.
At the moment Loek plays in a big variety of musical projects, crossing different genres/styles like Traditional and Contemporary Jazz, Bigbandjazz, as well as Funk and Pop. For more information about these projects, take a look at the Projects subpage on this website.
